At the forum, Dr. Li Tao, Vice President & Group Chief Representative of Northern China of Li & Fung Development (China) Limited talked about Fung Group’s innovative business models and retail formats. He also shared his views on China’s retail market, its competitive landscape, highlights of the sector and major challenges faced by retailers. In addition to the speech, Dr. Li also moderated a discussion with CEOs of renowned companies, on “Historic opportunity for development of China’s retail brands”.
Fung Business Intelligence also launched the report on “China’s retail industry and its challenges” at the forum. The report not only analysed macroeconomic data and financial figures, but also identified key trends and challenges whilst making recommendations for the retail industry based on China’s 13th Five-Year Plan. It ended by addressing the future prospects of China’s retail industry under the influence of the internet, an innovative business models that will continue to create new retail formats and consumption patterns in the years to come.
