On March 27th – 29th, the 17th Department Store and Retail Summit (the Summit) was held in Beijing, China.
Themed “Embarking on a new journey”, industry leaders and senior executives discussed the significant transformation the industry has undergone over the past year, how the industry has been disrupted but with fresh insights shed on, and what measures retailers are taking to adapt to the current context.
During the panel discussion titled “Creating high-performance supply chain”, Gary Mao, General Manager of Innovation Projects, Fung Retail Group and Helen Wang, Acting Executive Vice President of Red Sun Company Limited, along with other top managers from the industry, exchanged views on the essential elements of supply chain management and what it takes to improve its efficiency and productivity.
Fung Business Intelligence, along with China Commerce Association for General Merchandise, launched the latest report “China’s Department Stores 2019”. The report analyses macroeconomic data, identifies key trends and major challenges the industry is facing, while making recommendations for the government as well as department store operators.
The Summit brought together over 1200 guests including industry bellwethers from the retail sector and brand manufacturers; local and overseas department stores influencers; senior executives from industry associations and representatives from mainstream media.
